About Me
My name is Laurissa Zavala and I live in The Colony, Texas. I will graduate from The Colony High School in 2018. I just finished my Senior year in varsity team and were bi-district champions for our district.
My Freshman year I was a starter for the Freshman A-team as a middle hitter. My sophomore year I played as a middle and outside hitter for the JV team. During my Sophomore year, I was voted “Outstanding Hitter” for our JV-Team. My Junior year I was a starter for the Varsity team as a middle and outside hitter. I was chosen for the 2016 UIL All-District 2nd-Team and 2016 All-District All Academic Team. My Senior year, I was voted “Outstanding Hitter” second year in a row. I was also nominated All-district 1st team and All Academic team.
I have been playing volleyball since the 5th grade and club volleyball since the 8th grade. I have also played soccer and club basketball, but decided to stay with volleyball full-time in 2013.
In 2013-14, I was a middle hitter for Force Volleyball Club in Plano, Texas with Coach Michelle. In 2014-15, I was the starting middle hitter for Frisco Flyers Volleyball Club in Frisco, TX with Coach Josh. In 2015-16 I played right side and middle hitter for Frisco Flyers Volleyball Club with Coach Kristi. In 2016-17 I played for Attack volleyball in Lewisville, Texas as a middle blocker. This year I will be playing with Instinct Volleyball Club in Lake Dallas, Texas.
I am very competitive. I would be a great asset in competitive volleyball because I always respect my teammates and coaches. I ask questions and I pay attention to what they say. I try to encourage my teammates to do their best.
I am an A-honor roll student and love school. I am very interested in the medical field, mainly sports medicine. I currently help our sports trainer in the mornings and some evenings with players needing therapies. I would love to play volleyball in college while I earn my degree.
Thank you for looking over my profile.
