PERSONAL STATEMENT

I began playing volleyball in the second grade for a local recreation team. As soon as I was old enough, I started playing club ball at Frisco Flyers on the top 11 Red team and continued one more year with the Flyers on the top 12 National Red team. I switched to Instinct Volleyball Club the following year, where our team, 13W Gold, qualified for USAV Nationals at the Windy City National Qualifier and Mizuno Lone Star Qualifier. At the direction of my private lesson coach, I moved to Instinct 14 Wild Black for 14s. I was able to gain experience and “court sense” playing all around for the season. I played as a setter from 11 to 12 and switched to right side for 13s. I played all around and setter at 14.

In addition to sports, I am also an A student and enjoy contributing to the community. With my team, I have worked at food banks, charity clothing drives and pet shelters. With my church, I have gone on mission trips and worked to help communities outside of North Texas.

Volleyball is my passion. I love competing and push myself to become a better athlete. My coaches appreciate my good attitude, leadership skills and strong work ethic. I take pride in my ability on the court. As a team player and captain, I work to bring my team up rather than point out mistakes. My dream is to play volleyball for a D1 school that is a good match academically, athletically, and where I can make an impact personally.
